The 38th stated communication of Erie Parish United Lodge #161 took place on September 20, 2007 in the lodge room of the Cheektowaga Masonic Center.
The Lodge noted the deaths of Ralph Beehler, Jules Piller and Frank Parson. The altar will be draped for a thirty day period and pages of the minutes set aside in honor of each Brother.
The business for the evening included a favorable report of three petitions by the Investigating Committee and Robert Yacone, Stephen Kelly and Ryan Bonnett were duly elected to membership and will be presenting themselves for admittance on October 18.
Petitions for admittance and for affiliation were received from Robert Cieri and Gerald Miller, respectively, and given to the investigating committee chair, Dan Sova.
Dan Emblige presented the budget for the ensuing year and after discussion, it was accepted. The Master however reminded the Brothers that fundraising was about to become a fact of life for the lodge if a dues increase was to be avoided.
A Treasurer Emeritus pin was presented to George Pullman and the Dedicated Service Award apron and certificate were presented to Dennis Mooney. Grand Lodge approved the award in the spring but we were unable to present it before the lodge closed for the summer.
